Safety Officer

Location is in San Antonio, TX; Nashville, TN; or Tuscaloosa, AL


  • Manage & maintain comprehensive H&S programs at all offices and jobsites
  • Provide guidance on H&S requirements and confirm company, industry and regulatory guidelines are met
  • Aid company personnel in developing site safety plans
  • Train / Inspect personnel in the use of Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs)
  • Conduct new hire / supervisor safety orientation and other training
  • Conduct site and office safety audits
  • Lead the safety training program
  • Serve as primary point of contact for incident and injury notification, investigation, and follow-up
  • Maintain safety training documentation and assist in proposal development


  • Strong understanding of construction hazards and safe work practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or related degree – OR – 10 years of progressive safety management experience
  • Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing
  • Good driving record
  • Perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs
  • Possess sufficient stamina to work in outdoor (hot & cold) environment
  • Must be able to travel approximately 50% of the time


  • Safety-related certification (CSP, CIH, CHST) or the ability to obtain certification
  • OSHA 30-hour construction safety training or qualified as OSHA outreach instructor
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • OSHA competent person qualified for common construction hazards (excavations, fall protection, scaffolding, confined spaces)
